A Love Affair with Life

I’ve been thinking lately about what an extraordinary thing it is to be alive.

What a beautiful, astonishing world we get to wander through. All these cities and winding streets, little cafés and grand old buildings, strangers who become friends over a glass of wine, conversations that linger long after the evening ends.

Everywhere I go, I’m reminded how much goodness there is in the world. How generous people can be with their stories, their laughter, their kindness. How easily strangers can become familiar, how unexpectedly a moment can become a memory you’ll treasure forever.

I love the delicious unpredictability of it all. The places I haven’t seen, the people I haven’t met, the experiences I can’t yet imagine. The possibility that something wonderful is waiting just around the corner.

And love. Not only the grand, romantic kind, but all its beautiful variations: Friendship, affection, tenderness, passion, the easy intimacy of shared laughter. The simple pleasure of being delighted by another human being.

I want all of it. The adventure and the quiet. The extraordinary and the beautifully ordinary. The moments that take my breath away, and the ones that make me feel completely, wonderfully at home.

There’s so much life to live. So much beauty to discover. So many reasons to fall in love with the world again and again.

And I intend to keep falling. 😊

@JohnnyNoir I love wine and Boston! I do love life, though, too, especially when I get to travel. :)

Just saw in the comments that you’re visiting Boston.

I hope you’re finding it pleasing?

Whereabouts did you stay? Did you do anything cool?

@helenoftroy2000 I’ve traveled many places. I haven’t exploded anything physically, though.

I haven’t traveled as much as you, mostly trips to Disney and a cruise or two, but sometimes I just put the day on pause and look out the window and I’m amazed at all the things I see. Between the squirrels and birds in my backyard, there is major adventure happening all the time.
Life is about the moments we experience and the memories we make. There is so much reason to feel alive, if only we pause to appreciate them.
