Had my second CouchSurfer stay with me and my roommate for a couple of days. His name was Ruben from Arnhem in the Netherlands. We had a lot of fun together, I showed him around San Antonio by visiting the River Walk and The Alamo. We then had a small NBA Finals watch party in my house with a few friends followed by a movie night. He was a terrific guest and what they say about Dutch people is very true. I cant wait to see him again, and this time in the Netherlands.
@GoFish we host and stay with fellow travelers thru the couch surfing app. Its free on both sides but sometimes there's small ways to pay. like bringing or gifting a small item to one another. But that only if its requested. Small act of kindness happens a lot like paying for a hosts meal and what not. But mostly its the chance at a cultural exchange and to provide a traveler with free accommodations. It certainly helps out, I mean it did for me when i was the traveler
