Airport shutdowns USA

I’m going in & out of Houston on Nov 5 (bush int’l). I’m not American

Has anyone experienced any delays with regards to these airport shutdowns and is there a website I can look at to see information on this?

Wouldn't bring a cellphone with you. Get one here. They will look through your cellphone and that could easily cause massive delays, even if they don't find anything. It takes time to even just look.

They don't just look through the cellphones, they download all the information in the cellphone and keep it.

@swirlie believe me that would take even more time. Like hours. Cellphones don't copy very fast.

I know this because I regularly backup my cellphone onto a SD card. And that's a internal SD card.

Believe me, that's what the US border security have been doing to Canadians traveling from Canada to the US is downloading their cellphones and reviewing all their their personal contacts with phone numbers. If they don't like who you' have on your speed dial list, they won't let you into the USA. That is why the Canadian government is strongly advising Canadians to not travel to the USA unless the travel is essential, which means business travel.

@swirlie contacts and messages is only a few megabytes. It's not your whole cell phone which is at least 32 gigabytes likely more.

One personal video is bigger than anyone's contacts and messages together.

@Jenny1234 problem here is your going to a very strict Republican state. They are worse.

@swirlie far better than you do. I have been in the computer industry for decades. Plus I have held a security clearance.

...all of which is totally irrelevant to any of this discussion. You being in the computer industry with a security clearance means absolutely nothing when you yourself cannot comprehend what US border security are doing at border crossings with Canadian cellphones.

Maybe it's time you started to pay attention to what's actually happening in the USA instead of trying to pretend that you're an authority on cellphone technology, which clearly you are not?

@swirlie listen please. All of this is alleviated if she doesn't bring a cellphone.

No contacts or anything else can be copied if there is nothing to copy.
