Travel diary- France

Think I might start telling you all when I go abroad and write about my experiences.

Last year in the summer I went to France for my sister in law's wedding.

My sister in law's husband's parents are minted and they payed for everyone.

We arrived and it was an accommodation in Brittany- a large former Château hosting most of the guests.l- it was enormous and had many rooms.

In the mornings it was great- having a lovely deck where I got up early- my wife still asleep, and did my daily devotions, reading my Bible and Spurgeon's morning and evening, surrounded by the beautiful Brittany countryside.

The water was safe- I checked Google, I knew if I asked my now brother in law, he'd say in his thick French accent with classic French humour: "Yes, and we've now just got the new invention of electricity too" 😂

The days were busy preparing for the wedding but we did get to visit Mont St Michel and some French markets. Also everyone did the traditional Zambian thing- people patted the ground and the men danced wearing the musisi.

The usual shenanigans- my sister's Cousin helped herself to our room start cooking an early dinner at 11 PM and my father in law and I were called to remove a giant Asian hornet from a best friend of my sister in law's room, did I mention the fire alarm from the cooking going off at midnight? 😅

The day of the wedding came and it was a great ceremony in a French church, couldn't understand the priest as the service was in French 😅

The night was fun- we were all on the dancefloor until 3 or 4 am.

The time concluded with a 'swawe' (don't know how to spell it) in the gardens of the Château, with relatives.

Overall a great time!
