What do y'all know about the Basque Country?

Partly in Spain, partly in France. Language a mystery, unrelated to any others. Basques possibly reached the New World long before Columbus in search of cod, the ferry goes there from Plymouth.

@EuskalEsnea: there was an interesting extract from a book called Cod in the Sunday papers a few years ago. I kept meaning to get the book but never got round to it. We did quite a bit about the Basque country at school, in French though not geography lol.

Edit. I just realised Cod was published 20 years ago! Lol!

@Onecharmingman: The author of that book called Cod also has an apparently good book about Basque history
