I once saw a German tourist in a French railway station do that too.
She kept saying Einsteigen?, EINSTEIGEN?, EINSTEIGEN? to the French ticket clerk.

@Thinkerbell English speakers dont know how fortunate they are to speak the language that is the second Language to most people at this point. But I always made it a point to learn a few survival words and phrases before stepping out in a foreign contry. Now those smart phones can translate for you..😷
@Thinkerbell Remotely related. Fascinating NY Times article about Freud's original German-language terminology. The early English-language translators butchered Freud's poetic sense.
