I’m planning a trip to visit my old classmates and friends in Belgium (Vlaanderen) and in The Netherlands next year. The main plan is to travel up north to Denmark, Sweden, or Finland. I’ll be staying with a friend in Gouda for a few days. I’m still doing some research about the things that I need and what places to visit. I haven't been to Northern Europe so if you have any suggestions, feel free to comment below.

It's easy to travel from city to city in Belgium and the Netherlands, for Belgium I suggest you download the SNCB app, it's for the train so you can get your tickets easily. You can pretty much issue a ticket even if you're on the train hahah. Personally I've visited Brussels, Antwerpen, Bruges and Ghent, they are all very beautiful cities, Antwerpen and Ghent are more "student" cities and nightlife is great. Also Northern Europe is expensive so don't be shocked. Look for hostels to stay, you may have already.

Been there. I like Belgium and the Netherlands. I was very disappointed in Oslo though. But that is in Norway.

The Russo-Ukrainian War might affect not only traveling to, say, E. Poland, but energy prices throughout Europe.

But if you are looking now, you can probably see relative pricing and use that as a reasonable (even if slightly coarse) guide.
