Do you know why so many dudes were taller than me in the airport in 2015 compared to 2019?

I remember in 2015, when I just got into 10th grade, we were going to our hometown Siliguri. We went by flight from our city Bangalore to Bagdogra Airport of Siliguri and later after 3-4 days we went to Falakata by bus from Siliguri. But I have noticed that in 2015, in the Bangalore International Airport I was literally towered by every dudes there. I was measured in school and my height was 5'7(171 cm) but they measured while I was wearing my shoes which gives extra 2 cm so I was 5'6.5(169 cm) barefoot. I was surprised seeing many guys there taller than me. Most of those guys were in their 20s and 30s tho and some even 40s and I was only 14. I also saw some white foreigners and those guys too were much taller than me. But I noticed a difference in 2019, when we were again going to Siliguri for vacations. I noticed in the airport of our city Bangalore, that I didn't get towered as much. I was 5'8.5(174 cm) barefoot and I was 18 that time. There were still some dudes taller than me but less compared to in 2015. Does a 2 inch height gain really makes a difference or I was probably even taller around 5'10 or something?
