How much is rent in New Jersey?

My best friend moved to New Jersey seven months ago. She said she REALLY wants me to come live up here and just because she moved doesn’t mean we can’t still be roommates. It will still happen. She said she’s planning to get her own place next year but the thing is, I can’t afford to move out and I want to finish school first. She said just transfer and I’m the ONLY person she trust and only me because the others screwed her over. I’m not even prepared or anything. I would have to get used to the cold and I really don’t wanna live there. It would be fun to be roommates but I don’t know what to think. Don’t think I’m gonna be able to have the money by next year! I need to help my dad with bills and stuff.

No state is more expensive to live in than New Jersey

Rent is absurb, if you can find good places

Transportation, prices, taxes and limited employment make NJ a bad destination.

People have been leaving Jersey in mass numbers for 30 years
@questionWeaver You hit the nail right on the head. I live in NJ. I'm too old to move now, but if I knew then what I know now I would have moved out of this state years ago.

@thedarkside @questionweaver This is true I am one of the ones who moved out but I sure do miss the Italian food 🍕
@Solana ... absolutely ... but the state is just driving people away

I miss strombolis
@Solana A good thing about Italian food is that quality preparations of it can be fond in most places. i moved from Boston (lived near the North End, the paisan enclave) to the paciffic Northwest and still find great Italian food.
