How much is rent in New Jersey?

My best friend moved to New Jersey seven months ago. She said she REALLY wants me to come live up here and just because she moved doesn’t mean we can’t still be roommates. It will still happen. She said she’s planning to get her own place next year but the thing is, I can’t afford to move out and I want to finish school first. She said just transfer and I’m the ONLY person she trust and only me because the others screwed her over. I’m not even prepared or anything. I would have to get used to the cold and I really don’t wanna live there. It would be fun to be roommates but I don’t know what to think. Don’t think I’m gonna be able to have the money by next year! I need to help my dad with bills and stuff.

Yeah rent is more on the expensive side here unfortunately

In Newark it’s probably like 1200+ a month
But in the higher end I’m sure places like Hoboken and Rumson are at least 3000 a month

@JRVanguard Oh hell no!!! I’ve been trying to tell my friend that’s too expensive to live there but she kept telling me I need to have an open mind and we should look for low income places and stop giving up so easily. Not trying to give up easily it’s just that she doesn’t understand. Even if rent is $1000 a month her and I will pay $500 each. A lot of people make that much money in a month. Well some people do depending where you live. I can’t just move out.
