What type of crops do they grow?

@Pfuzylogic The main crops grown in Portugal are cereals (wheat, barley, corn and rice), potatoes, grapes (for wine), olives and tomatoes.

Do they have anything like bullfights for entertainment?

@Pfuzylogic there are some places that bullfighting is still going on but as a general rule is frown upon. Even in towns where there is still bullfighting, it is forbidden to kill the bull.

New Year’s Day (Ano Novo)
Good Friday (Sexta-feira Santa)
Easter Sunday
25 April: Freedom Day
1 May: Labour Day
10 June: Portugal National Day
Corpus Christi - june
15 August: Assumption of Mary
5 October: Republic Day
1 November: All Saints’ Day
1 December: Restoration of Independence Day
8 December: Immaculate Conception
25 December: Christmas Day

I was stationed at Rota Spain in 1983.
I attended a festival that had a beauty pageant in the summer I believe.
The town center was packed!

@Pfuzylogic Summer is a big event in portugal and spain..we are called sister countries for a reason :p

I think it was for the Virgin Mary but it has been so long ago.
They also had siestas in the middle of the day and stayed up until 2 AM!

@Pfuzylogic not really..there's always a way around it..you can try to speak with the few words you know but almost everyone speaks english.
