Would you hold a stranger's baby?

As I boarded my flight there was a woman holding a young infant and simultaneously attempting to collapse the child's stroller for a crew member who idly stood by waiting to accept it. A lady in front of me kindly asked the woman if she needed her baby to be held before kindly obliging. It made me wonder if I'd have been aware and selfless enough to offer the same or would I have walked past the woman as the majority of passengers did. Is fear of litigious retribution a deterring factor when deciding whether or not to simply be a Good Samaritan?

My Dear Wife had an appointment she had to go to and asked a relative stranger to look after our infant daughter. I was away at work. The neighbour said yes and Dear Wife came back a few hours later and the neighbour woman informed her that our daughter had got hungry and rather than use the mild Dear Wife had left the woman simply breast fed our daughter. She had a son about the same age as our daughter and had lots of milk to spare so.....
