In the USA what is the best way to travel reasonably long distances excluding driving a car?

I usually prefer trains in Europe.

Airplane. The train is insanely stupid here unless you’re on the east coast.

@SW-User I am planing on going from the top to the bottom of the east coast, but I have noticed they are more expensive than a plane but may be a fun option if I want to make a few stops
