Do you have any suggestions for packing?

I have to pack myself from six months to a year to an uncertain amount of time. Basically, I am throwing a stone to a bottomless well. So what should I pack from my home. I will only take 1 suitcase...

I bought a MountainSmith duffel bag, a large one, it doesn't weigh much and it holds a lot, the only problem is you have to carry it (or get someone to help) and doesn't have padding...which would be OK if you don't have anything breakable. You can fit at least 10 more pounds of items in it than you can a regular suitcase, it's that much lighter.

My grandmother has a big suitcase so I will probably get that from her. I have to take parfume bottle with me but I think it will be fine if I wrap it inside clothes? And I really have limitation for 20 kg. As for lifting, I don't think it should be a problem. I will drag it along
