London or Venice?

If you could only go to one of these places, which one would you pick to travel to and visit? And why?🤔

I would go to Venice. I always loved the idea of canals as streets. Italian food is awesome. Venice might not be around much longer. It's been sinking and the seas are rising.

hi Sourdad
there are more canals in Birmingham than Venice.
Just sayin if Venice sinks.
Best wishes

hi Bean17
I have been to London so I would have to say Venice but I would go out of season if there is such a time - maybe when it floods. Otherwise all you would only see tourists which would make it a lot like London.
Best wishes

Go to Venice, it's safer at the moment and a little more culture and less busy. London can be overwhelming to those not used to how fast paced it is and it is seriously over crowded.

I visited both so neither. They are beautiful ,especially , Venice, but they are not cities you like to see again and again..one time is enough (my opinion).

Venice for it's old world charm and romance
sogdianrock · 61-69, M
hi SagePoet
London is older - just sayin
Best wishes

SagePoet · 70-79, M
but for me Venice is more romantic, London might be older true but I look at Venice I see things that make my heart sing @sogdianrock

I've been to London lots of times... "if I could rename the word love, I'd call it Venice" so venice it is!
Venice, I live 1 hour away from London.
Sazzio · 36-40, M
@Gingerbreadspice You live in Leicester too?
No I live in Suffolk 😊
Sazzio · 36-40, M
Since London is an hours journey by train for me, I'd pick a new place like Venice.
I would go to Venice as I've never been there. I've been to London twice. :)
Venice, I adore Italy and I've already been to London quite a few times
walabby · M
I've been to both. Hard to say which one I liked best...

I have been to both. Both are cities that people either love or hate, I love both. Venice is very touristy, it is beautiful.

But London has everything, its busy, it has history, culture, free museums and art galleries, great restaurants.

If you are choosing between the two, I'm hugely biased about where I want you to go, for my own reasons so won't say as it's not fair.
sogdianrock · 61-69, M
hi Babylon
I have been to London but not to Venice yet.
I like Gondolas and St Marks Square.
Best wishes
:)
BabyLonia · F

London, baby, London! Because as far as I'm concerned, it's the original city! Besides, I prefer not to see the rats and pigeons too close.
walabby · M
@GypsyMiss There's plenty of pigeons in Trafalgar Square... :)
GypsyMiss · 46-50, F
@walabby True that. I just feel the vermin are less visible in old London Town, but to be honest, I've never been to Venice so I can't accurately compare the 2. But London has my heart. Always.
walabby · M
@GypsyMiss Venice does smell worse than London... :/
Gangstress · 41-45, F
London probably.never been to Venice but heard its just another shitty city lol
sogdianrock · 61-69, M
hi Gangstress
That is a terrible thing to say! Venice is amazing I bet!
Best wishes
