I'd Like to Travel

I've seen a lot of the world, especially Europe and the Middle East. I am embarrassed to say I haven't seen much of the USA, my own country. I really want to walk the Appalachian Trail, and will do it in bits and pieces over the next several years.

Besides the obvious things, like Grand Canyon, Rushmore, etc., does anyone have a bucket list of must-see places in the USA?

Strange as it may sound, San Francisco was on mine. I was blessed and got to go twice. The melting pot of people there, and the many different cultures of each district were fascinating to me. It's one of the coolest places I've visited. Like you, I've been to about 21 different countries, but only a handful of places in the US.

@AnarchoMetalchic Thanks! I like NYC for exactly those reasons, but NYC is just too much sometimes. I'll be glad to try SF.

@ramblinman1962 I went to NYC many years ago on a high school trip. We didn't have much time there, but it was really cool to see!

@AnarchoMetalchic You should go back! Thats one of the places I have gone a lot, since its driving distance. I've spent a lot of time in the Northeast from DC up to Maine, but never went west or south much. I have relatives in Texas. I may start my exploration there.
