馃 What is an 'indicator' on a motor vehicle and how does one use it?

An indicator is used primarily to keep normal people from exploding into a raging asshole.

If the brake is applied over a prolonged period of time with no indicator being used, damage to the rear of the vehicle is a preferred outcome.

hi YouHaveBeenWawned
when cars were first invented you would stick you hand out of the right side before turning right and out of the left before turning left. This was to indicate your intentions for other road users. Later lights were used and these became called indicators. One uses it by turning on the appropriate indicator with a switch so it lights up and then once the manoeuvre is complete you turn the switch off. usually the off switch is automatic as it is tripped by the steering wheel having made the turn.
Best wishes
:)

It's when you replace the catalytic converter and muffler with a straight pipe and indicate to people that you're within two miles.

It is when you complete your turn, then slide down the handle thingy to let people know your turn is over.
