Gold is over £3,000 (GBP) per ounce, Gold has gone up 50% in the last year and rose 25% the previous year, can Crypo beat that?

Everyone I know is taking about Gold, it's at it's highest ever apparently, if you know better let me/us know.

I've added a Poll feel free to vote what you think is the best thing to do with a small nest egg.

Gold may continue to rise for some time.. But there is no income factor in gold. If you buy a share, you get dividends. If you buy a house you collect rent..And inflation slowly erodes the buying power of your gold, while improving conditions see the value fall. Frankly right now you would be better off buying 6 months to a year worth of staple food and groceries as their prices will rise in that year. It cant hurt to have a years worth of rice, canned good and toilet paper..😷

@whowasthatmaskedman Your obviously thinking outside the box, life's a gamble.

@senghenydd It certainly is. And you are right. But in terms of a store of wealth, gold, silver and other metals are already overpriced, so lets run the scenario. If things improve with the world situation, and oil and fertilizer begin to flow, tensions ease, the price of gold drops and you lose. I wont touch crypto because it is shonky enough to attract Trump.. Enough said? Commercial real estate is tough due to the work from home boom and the retail shopping scene drying up. Residential real estate is risky with high interest rates and if a recession hits there is the possibility of tenant default. Its a crap shoot wherever you look. You cant risk taking on more debt to invest and that leave you with investing in your own cost reduction schemes, from paying down your own debt (I assume you wouldnt be talking buying gold if you had any debt) or purchasing things you will use to reduce your future expenses.😷
