What do you need electricity for? It is nice to have lights, but you could use fire instead. Fire for heat, fire to cook. Go to bed when it gets dark. Meet the neighbours, get some dogs for defence.

Society would either become more inclusive or more feral depending on its current inclinations. Electricity can be generated, water can be dug for, both at a very local level.
