The worst thing Mozilla and Google did to the world was letting JavaScript get to this point.
For years and years and years the only Programming language that could drive the web was JavaScript which lead to an entire ecosystem around it evolving, Frameworks, runtimes, etc because JavaScript Vanilla was so bloody useless and incapable that people insisted on expanding it's functionality to do things that really just should not have been done because it is so wasteful of Computing resources which even if abundant are still not at the price level of say Table salt which is so affordable most people don't complain about how much it cost anymore
they used to back when it was a currency but it's not anymore because it's not scarce enough to be anymore because humanity got so much better at acquiring it
of course that was the Front end, the back end was done in other languages. PERL for a long time held up the back end which was it's own form of insanity as it wasn't meant to do that either but now Javascript is rampaging because of NodeJS and let me be the first to say this I disagree with other Developers. No Apps is better in every way than Electron Applications. I'd rather Go without than have to deal with an Electron app. if that's the only way the world gets the program just don't write it and let us suffer without your software PLEASE. I'm begging you. Better that DISCORD NOT EXIST than it use Node and electron.
anyway, The mortal Sin of Google and Mozilla was allowing the Status quo to persist and persist until now where JavaScript is needed at least as a Language to glue all your WASM components together.
WASM should not settle for JavaScript. The WebAssembly should be Ramped up in terms of it's goals until it's goals are to be a complete and total replacement for JavaScript meant to vanquish it until there's nothing left of it but a corpse.
