is hp a good company to buy from

i'm gonna buy myself a new computer monitor next week, it looks great, i plan to phone hp customer service to ask if this monitor will be compatible with my computer and other inquiries too, but never bought anything from hp.com before.....so just wondered what you thought of them? or if you had experience from buying from them.
