is windows 10 a big adjustment to make from using windows 7

i might have to update to windows 10 in january when i have the finances, after having windows 7 since 2015, when i got my desktop computer.

the reason i may have to update is because, when i launched chrome browser earlier on, i got a message display near the tabs saying - ' to get google chrome updates in future you will have to update to windows 10 or later, this computers is using windows 7'.

so i was wondering how i would get around that problem as i want to keep using win 7? and i have a lot of media files on this computer and hundreds of bookmarks in chrome itself that i don't want to lose......plus there's an chrome extension called 'session buddy' which saves all your tabs and websites you visited, and i've been using session buddy since 2015 so i have a lot of tabs saved and websites saved in it, which, again, i don't want to lose.

so what will i do? - i hope and pray i can keep on using chrome on windows 7, even if its an outdated version of chrome.

any help here appreciated.

You should be able to update to 10 with almost no loss of files. But I would take all the media files that you want to save, and put them on an external hard drive or a USB stick.

As for the chrome stuff, write down the extensions you use, you might be able to export your bookmarks to HTML and then you can import an HTML file with your bookmarks back in, but I don't think you'll lose any of that stuff during the upgrade to 10.

Be careful, sometimes extensions you currently use are no longer available for download, so just be mindful about that.

I don't think it's that big an adjustment. But if you're running Win7, I think you need to get outta Dodge. Even Win8.1 is reaching its end-of-life in January. That leaves you open to security vulnerabilities. Having an out-of-date browser will only make it worse.
As for losing bookmarks and such, you can back all that up so you can access that stuff on any computer and mobile devices for that matter
