Internet Problems

So apperently something called a TP link switch that helps with the ethernet cable, the old one got surchared or something idk, so I did get a new one a 'gigabit' connector and the moment I put OW2 as a test on it says you've lost connection to the internet, so now I need to get another one... does anyone have a suggestion on one that can actully work?? Or am I just being stupid and something is worng on my end?
