I heavily discourage use of icloud backups. Icloud is not secure as even if it were end to end encrypted it would not be zero knowledge end to end encryption. Icloud would lure apple users into a false sense of security. End to end encryption is worse than worthless without being complimented by zero knowledge as without zero knowledge it will be used for marketing purposes to lure users into a false sense of security, and then the FBI will request access, and you'll be screwed. Get a cloud service provider that has deliberately engineered the situation where even if the FBI did come knocking they have nothing to give them that's useful to them.
