Doing the White hat thing here even though I'd prefer to take advantage of this.
Here's a truth you might not want to face: There is no way to weaken encryption so that Law enforcement can investigate cyber crime without making your devices ironically more vulrenable to cyber crime.
I can already sense your rebuttal and anticipate it "But pedophiles use encryption." And my reply: Every time you order something from Amazon , from ebay, from new egg from shopify etsy or any online market place and enter your credit card data and submit a transaction you, and by that I mean everyone (minna san wa!) depend on encrpytion.
So if Apple made their phones easier for the FBI to break into by not fully implementing end to end encryption they also made it easier for me to build the kinds of tools I'd need to intercept your phones network traffic and spy on the messages that are sent across them for any reason I wanted to including to intercept finannical information and then go on a buying spree with your details.
This society has never been the kind of society that tends to resort to bans of technology that benefits everyone just because a few bad apples get enabled too.
