You grateful for internet and technology?

Ever curse it?
I recognize its conveniences every day. Mostly I’m annoyed at the way it seems to rob others of basic common sense, like those who STILL text while driving. 🙄
Elessar · 26-30, M
@bijouxbroussard I've personally witnessed to a woman text-riding (scooter), with her son on the back 😶
WaryWitchWandering · 36-40, F
@Elessar I would be terrified. I get anxious racing thoughts while driving with my children at times

Like, anything could go wrong. But I try to remember…. Anything could go wrong at any time and I can’t control it all. I just try to do my best to pay attention to it all

I totally used to text and drive though

@WaryWitchWandering I've had to make some serious emergency brakes due to getting "distracted" for like 0.2 seconds to check my speed on the dashboard; I wouldn't even read a message, let alone reply to one.

Yes very grateful, as although there are downsides, there are a lot of plusses, like I can talk to and make friends with people all over the world. Internet friends have become real friends. I have learned countless times more than I ever would have from books alone..
I see it as a tool... we choose how we use it, and we make sure we are in control, not let it control us

It was very useful during the 12 weeks I had to shield last year. Watched a load of youtube videos
WaryWitchWandering · 36-40, F
@comfi1 YouTube videos and music have saved my life multiple times

Not even kidding haha
WaryWitchWandering · 36-40, F
@WaryWitchWandering yetttt… I do feel it makes everything more complicated sometimes. It’s so easy to distract oneself these days

Part of me wishes that it never existed, the other part is extremely grateful for it.
ButterRobot · 51-55, M
Yes…imagine lockdown without it.
TheConstantGardener · 56-60, M
It's been a revelation in so many ways but we all may be paying a heavy price for it.
Northwest · M
Yes and no, why would I curse it?
WaryWitchWandering · 36-40, F
@Northwest for distracting.

For wasting time.

Different reasons
Northwest · M
@WaryWitchWandering That's our choice though. I tend to focus on the advances we made through the Internet and technology.

Thank you internet and technology
It's a love-hate relationship.
