What do I do if an unknown number contacts me via Whatsapp?

Hi, I live in the Usa, but the contact number (random) is from Québec, Canada. I did a little research. Nothing showed up for the number that contacted me. They only put “Hello”. I don’t know them nor have them saved in my phone. Their number is (581)-295-3505 in case someone can do a lookup because when I did it, only Canadian stuff showed up & random polls, etc. Thank you!
I need advice. Ofc I’m blocking them, but I don’t want hackers on my phone for pressing on the message.
They just texted me at 10:12 am TODAY.
It was a few mins ago. I saw a popup. I didn’t click it.

I'm not on whatsapp, but when I get a random text or random email or random message here, and it's totally vague like "hello," I ignore it. If I get multiple contacts from the same unknown source, I block it.

If it's a friend or something they'll put in identifying info or try to reach you thru another method. If it's a scammer they're probably reaching out with a bot to harvest numbers, so just don't get harvested.

I don't know anything about that number, but I do know that most of the scammers I hear about in Canada are in Quebec.
