Would you ever upload your consciousness?

Mind uploading, also known as whole brain emulation (WBE), is the hypothetical futuristic process of scanning a physical structure of the brain accurately enough to create an emulation of the mental state (including long-term memory and "self") and copying it to a computer in a digital form. I believe they need your brain 🧠 for this, so far someone volunteered to do that in a certain point in the future. Then we’ll know more.

As long as those who are presently in control of this planet are in power - definitely NOT.
RedRogue · 26-30, M
@theAlchemist that’s true no telling what kind of world they could/would create
ButterRobot · 51-55, M
Interesting as that sounds, I don’t think I’d let myself be put to death to try it.

Current Computing would need a lot more horsepower to pull off any sort of brain emulation

But it’s probably part of a post biological future

@ButterRobot I wonder what interacting with AI would be like, directly with your consciousness.
ButterRobot · 51-55, M
I wonder. And the consequences for your soul @RedRogue
RedRogue · 26-30, M
@ButterRobot yeah it’d definitely would be interesting in the unpredictable ways it could happen.

I been looking at either being frozen in liquid nitrogen at the point of death or having brain uploaded if that becomes possible. so far only one out of 6 cryogenic companies are still in business. and a activist judge in France ordered the frozen people there thawed out and buried. 🦃

No because I don't think it goes anywhere when we die.
RedRogue · 26-30, M
@KuroNeko yeah who knows what’s it’d be like

@SW-User It’d be a complete new frontier who knows what that’d be like

@SW-User that’s true! Or possible in a coma. If someone wrote that in their will.
Even if it was doable.

Who would want the possibility to live forever in an unsensory "body"?

It'd be TORTURE!
KuroNeko · 41-45, F
@OogieBoogie perhaps working for Amazon 😂😬
@KuroNeko Hahaha 😂😂😂
RedRogue · 26-30, M
@OogieBoogie yeah it might be torture that’s another reason why you might want to reframe from doing that.
