LOUIS VUITTON πŸ†

Day 2 August 30

AC37
LOUIS VUITTON πŸ†

Have a problem, make a plan & fix it:

β€œWe have assessed the damage and have now started the repair, this will continue 24 hours a day. There is some structural damage aft in the boat, but the main force was taken on the forward cradle splash. Overnight this area has been removed (in other words we have cut the piece out of the hull bottom) and the repair has started which means building a new piece of boat. It is too early at this stage to say when we will be sailing again but I have seen these guys work miracles before...”

Ergo only race 5 and 7 mean anything and the USA is in both. @sarabee1995

So... No matter what happens during this series, NZ is still the defender, right?
KiwiBird Β· 36-40, F
@sarabee1995 Yes we do not get any points for winning and if anyone beats us they don't get points either.

I think we are only competing in the double round robin not in the finals of the LV Cup.

@KiwiBird Thanks! β›΅

@sarabee1995 NZ is only racing in the double round robins. Once those are complete one of the challengers drops out. Likely the Swiss. The points leader at that stage has the choice who they race in the best of five Semi-final.

At this stage if the Italians are leading they will likely select to race the French and that would leave USA and the UK to fight out the other Semi.

NZ just beat the Swiss in a pointless practice. Better winds 10 knots and boats doing 40. The Swiss were actually disqualified but continued for some practice.

πŸ‡³πŸ‡Ώ vs πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ not that far away in another important pointless race.

@KiwiBird Got it. It would be nice to see USA challenging again! πŸ‘
