A Starboard Tack

I'm on a very familiar starboard tack right now bearing 225° out of Lewis Bay at 41.6° North, 70.28° West.

Today's my last day on the boat this year. She's being hauled tomorrow for the season. It's a bit depressing, as it is each year. This is my true home, my world. I am and always have been of the sea. She is in me and I am of her. And it is in her cool embrace that I always feel most at home.

It's about 62°F right now (17°C) with almost overcast skies, some sun peeking through. The forecast includes some passing showers, but nothing major. Winds are out of the southeast at about 9 knots. Seas are choppy with white caps as far as the eye can see.

I'll be on and off SW today, but know that I am home and at peace with the world in the loving embrace of the sea. 😌

How big is your boat?
I’ve always dreamed of learning to sail and having a boat

@Onestarlitnight She's a 33' (10 meter) single masted sloop. She's designed for daysailing and weekends, not really for cruising although I've done some coastal cruising. She was left to me by my grandfather.

Nice 👍🏻
I’d love to have a boat like that.
