About Me
About Me
Hello! I hope life is treating you well today.

I'm rather shy (which goes against my chosen profession) so talking about myself is kind of embarrassing, But here goes...

I'm a thoughtful and creative boy in my mid-60s. I like the wonders of nature and the outdoors. I like playing indoors, too.
I love movies (old and new), different kinds of music (I was raised on classical), TV, books, art and theatre. Words, and the English language are kind of my "thing" (as you might surmise), although I do speak a bit of French now and then. Learning about things I didn't know is a real turn on for me.

A Star trek fan from waaaayy back (A true "Trekker". Please don't ever call me a 'trekkie' - I'll have to stun you.).

As you might surmise, I love the English language (I seem to have been born understanding Shakespearean English) and have little use for numbers. Music - Raised on classical, I love many types of music, from Bluegrass to New Age to "Salon" music (think, "Titanic"). Movies and TV -- I enjoy documentaries, political thrillers and science fiction, particularly GOOD science fiction which seeks to address current social issues under the guise of being "somewhere (or some WHEN) else").
Fine artwork, good writing, direction and editing is thrilling to see... Rampant creativity is a wonderful aphrodisiac!
(So is intelligent thought, by the way.)

I believe that being a patriotic American citizen means acknowledging that we are not perfect, but must strive mightily to keep in sight the founding principals that once made this incredible experiment in "Democracy" the light of the world.
Liberal in my politics, raised as an Ethical Humanist, and VERY open-minded sexually (ask my sister), I do not support the arrogance of judging other's desires, as I would not have them judge mine. After all, we're here to share experiences, not to judge the people who have the courage to share them.
I believe that I can be a good and thoughtful citizen, and a good and thoughtful friend. As Stephen Hopkins (delegate from Rhode Island) says in "1776" (which I got to perform at the famous Fraunce's Tavern some years ago), "Hell -- I've never seen, heard, nor smelled an issue that was so bad that it couldn't be talked about!..."

We've all been buffeted by life at times, and if you're carrying a burden, I'd be honored to help lighten it for you if I can, as your friend. I'll also try to be respectful of your life and your privacy.
So, you are welcome to contact me personally to talk about anything at all. I ask only that you do so in full sentences with punctuation and caps, etc.
PLEASE, no fragments of phrases substituting for true, written, thoughtful discourse.
I will be courteous and honest in reply, and I expect the same.

Good Luck, and be well!
