What should I tell my grandma?

I said something about trying to become vegetarian and she seemed worried and asked why I want to. I don't want to tell her that I think I'm a fat ass so I don't know what to do.

If you think giving up meat alone will make you lose weight, your grandma has a right to worry.

@repeters1027: Because meat makes you feel full and the feeling lasts longer than anything else you can eat. Therefore you are less likely to eat rubish food in between meals. Also protein is a bodily requirement. Eat lean meat, don't cut it out.

@Gumba1000: Drinking a lot of water also helps with hunger. There is protein in other foods.

@repeters1027: Not as much as is in meat. Also the texture and viscous fibrous nature of meat is harder to break down so keeps you full.

There are plenty of good reasons to go veg. You can site concerns over environmental destruction or increased greenhouse gas emissions, objections to factory farming and animal cruelty, you can tell her how meat is linked to cancer and heart disease. I mean there's a lot of reasons to do so that are less vain than wanting to lose weight
Becoming a vegetarian will not help you lose weight... exercise and stop eating bullshit. Eat greens, meat, drink more water, grains, etc.

Tell her you want to save the environment lol

She knows that I love meat though and that giving it up is going to be hard, at first anyways.
