I Had A Good Day Today

I constantly complain, so I am making concerted efforts to share my positive experiences as well. So, along those lines of thought, I wanted to write this story.

Yesterday was just so lucky! Nothing HUGE, but everything small went well, and that was really valuable for me.
I suppose it started with me finding a penny on the ground. I usually keep an eye out for change on the ground, because I like the saying "If you find a penny, pick it up - for the rest of the day you'll have good luck."
Well, I also was walking my dog - as usual; and we stopped at the gas station we were walking by to buy a drink. I noticed it was a ConocoPhillips - and they are having that game again where you fill up and you get a card that might give you free gas or even free gas for life! Boy would that be awesome!
Anyway I mentioned to the lady, "Oh, you're doing THAT again - I'll have to fill up here next time."
She gave me a smile and grabbed 4 of the cards and just gave them to me! What a sweetheart! So that made me feel very good already, and it was still the start of the day.

So, there is another convenience store/gas station that Stella (my dog) and I stop by most days. We stopped there to get Stella a hotdog (her on-the-walk treat) and it was actually a bit cooler than usual. I haven't worn pants for months - always shorts; and I was able to wear pants because it was a bit cooler in temperature. I was struggling with my decision to get a cold soda, or a hot chocolate - and I asked the attendant which he would choose. He said hot chocolate - and I agreed it was the best decision.
So I walk up to pay for Stella's hotdog and my hot chocolate, and the cashier just says, "you're all good - no charge."
What? That's AWESOME!!!
Thanks a ton man! I go there very frequently and all the workers know my dog, and they like to pet her and they let me bring her in even though she isn't a service animal. Sometimes other patrons give me a dirty look, and I even heard one complain TO the attendant about me having a dog. The attendant just immediately told the customer, "Well, it's a service animal, so it's legally allowed to be anywhere he is."
LOL - THANKS BUDDY!!!

Well, I also bought a little drone helicopter for my neighbor's son. They don't have a credit card or debit card, and they ask me if they want to purchase something from online, and they give me cash. I'm of course happy to help. The drone is cheap - only about $45; and I actually had bought the exact kind before. I bought one for me and one for my niece - and they work perfectly! Little flips, barrel rolls, etc, it comes WITH the controller, the copter recharges, although the controller needs 2 batteries. (I haven't had to change those once yet though, and it's been over a month)
Anyway, I broke mine - and I emailed the company telling them the details, in case it was covered by warranty or something cool like that. I also have been promoting the exact drone from that store to many people, and undoubtedly sold a few units for him. I told him this in the email, and he said he was very thankful for my efforts - and to show it he offered a discount on my replacement drone.
I didn't want to buy one still, because I just don't have the extra money - even for a DISCOUNTED one. But, I knew my neighbor wanted one - so I told him the discount price and he jumped on it. Instead of paying $45, plus shipping - he only had to pay $24 and that included shipping. Anyway, all those details now explained - that package arrived yesterday too! So I was able to give him his drone and he was really excited. I hope it's lots of fun for him and I'm sure it will be.

It just wasn't a bad day. Everything seemed to go well, and there wasn't any huge problems. I just really appreciated the good fortune, and I intend to help the same type of fortune to continue for many days - or maybe even years or lifetimes. I'm not looking to put a deadline or expiration date on my newfound good luck.

I hope you are having some too!
