Why is divorce always considered a bad thing?

xSharp · 31-35, M
because the whole idea of marriage used to be till death do us part because you love one another and you want to be with that person forever. divorce makes you a liar or a blind fool for marrying an abuser.
Even if it sucks?

@XamadtheFirst: yes even if it sucks "for better or for worse "

Another trap to keep people stuck.

I was thinking the same thing. It's not for everyone.

Everything is a learning experience, including divorce

Because it affects everyone you know. However, I'm happy I did!

It is genuinely a bad thing, but sometimes it can be a blessing lol.

well one reason is that the children will not be granted the benefits of growing up with both parents around and plus, marriage is supposed to be a sacred bond of love, not currency and it's not meant to be easily shattered. Any form of a vow or love that is broken apart is never good.
I dunno about that. I live in a blended family and we all turned out fine.

It's a social construct. People change, relationships change, and if they do not move in the same direction, there is tension that manifests in the relationship. Far better to end a bad relationship than to suffer for years because of social custom or appearances.

Society believes that.
People see it as giving up.
It is the ending of a promise.
Seems to negate vows.
It was the start of a brand new, amazing life for me.
Why do you ask?
Divorce is something of a tradition in my family.
@XamadtheFirst: That is sad, really. Rise above it. Find a true love and stick together like glue.
@PoetryNEmotion: It's okay. If it wasn't, I wouldn't exist. I will certainly find someone worth sticking to and be worth sticking to as well 😊

Because of idealism. When in reality happy people don't get divorced. I always say congratulations when someone says they are getting a divorce. They were clearly miserable.

Because, however much it may be needed in certain circumstances and no matter how amicable the breakup, everyone gets hurt. There is no getting around that.
Because the process has a tendency to be mostly, a wealth transfer to the divorce attorneys. Damn vultures. Lol
Why did my parents want children if they have a divorce later. Why werent they sure about what they do..
I think people shouldnt get children if they are not sure about the relationship.
I know i am talking with big words but it is because my parents had a divorce.
Still i can understand them but wouldnt do it i think.
Wait till you're married. You might change your mind.

It's always sad when it happens, but it's usually not a bad thing. I know of nobody who is divorced that took the decision lightly. I would like to know why marrying too young isn't considered a bad thing. And by too young I mean 25 or under. And in many cases 30 and under.
NobodyFrvr · 31-35, M
because it's more proof of ever growing stupidity in people... 2 more people, considering themselves adults, legally admitting they never knew better... lol

Is it considered bad now?
xSharp · 31-35, M
no, today marriage is just a business arrangement, and if you marry someone with less money than you or a worse job he or she can divorce you and collect alimony.
