What is with this out of nowhere obsession with beards?

I am a guy, and I have thick brown hair, including my beard which grows fast, so I have every reason to sheep along to this beard worship culture. This seems to have just come out of nowhere. Beards are facial pubic hair that provides the perfect warm and moist conditions for bacteria to grow, the bacteria coming from every time you cough, eat, sneeze etc. To me it is also a sign of laziness, a "I'm not really intellectually interesting, but look I grew a beard I am so edgy!"

@pianoplayingsteve: So the beard does not make the man?!!! 😉

I'm sure these ads are targeted. It picked up on words in your post and targeted.

@UnderOneSun: Yes, i know. But it is more fun to think it was just chance.

Tell us how you really feel about beards and stop holding back for fucks sake.
pianoplayingsteve · 31-35, M
They are breeding grounds for bacteria, they are lazy, and they are an attempt at attention when they don't have the intellectual abilities to gain deserved attention.
NigelDoes · 56-60, M
It was a joke dude. I do agree however that most men with beards, at least the ones I see in my neighborhood look pretty fucking awful. It's part of that whole hipster truckdriver flannel shirt bullshit or whatever the hell it is.
pianoplayingsteve · 31-35, M
@NigelDoes: Definitely part of the hipster degeneracy. This generation seems to be brainwashed, and self policing themselves into the idea that one should not be intellectual, think outside of the box. Instead of making that effort, they need to get tattoos, they need to grow a beard, just anything external that doesn't actually require effort. Also, I notice how this beard growing parallels in terms of time the islamification of Europe...

It depends on the dude. Some guys really look awful without at least stubble.

That Bianca started it on EP

And women always fancy what they dont have.

To each their own, but I'm perplexed by beards in warm climate or during the warm summer months. But during the winter (especially if they work outside), it makes sense to keep your face warm.
pianoplayingsteve · 31-35, M
As a guy that has quick growing facial hair, I've never seen a beard as something I'd use to keep me warm lol.

[c=#003BB2]beards are awesome. most guys look amazing with beards and if they look after them and clean them, they are not filthy[/c]
PlumBerries · 31-35, F
[c=#003BB2]yeah the whole beard makes you a man thing is stupid. i wouldn't pay any attention to that.. the trend will die eventually and move on to the next trend.
when i first met my boyfriend he had a amazing medium length beard and shortly after we started dating, he shaved it cause he was sick of people calling him a hipster or being questioned about it with a trend and so on.. thankfully he has been growing it back though , well because i love the feel and look of beards.. but I'm good either way, beard or no beard.. just prefer beards lol

message me when the trend is dead and i guarantee i will still be saying the same lol[/c]
pianoplayingsteve · 31-35, M
@PlumBerries: I am sure you will be. Though you have not been replying to the last several messages I sent you. I don't pay attention to it, it is stupid, but a lot of people buy into it, and this generation of younger people are very emotionally blackmailing, socially stigmatizing descent. There is this current social movement (and the corporations that support it love it because it means they continue to make money whilst others don't as they feel they are doing all they need to do by being "hip") that tells us "look dont overthink things, dont try, just get a tattoo, grow a cool beard, don't try too hard, peace brother!" or whatever else they say.
PlumBerries · 31-35, F
[c=#003BB2]do you mean inboxes? if that's the case, sorry at times i don't check through a lot of inbox messages, i get sent so many messages mostly from trolls and so on that i don't normally scroll through most of them. sorry about that, wasn't avoiding you i promise.

so far I've seen 3 medical reports that men with beards have fewer colds

Beards make guys look more attractive and manlier

@pianoplayingsteve: There aren't? Why? How do you know? Why are you so sure there aren't? And can you tell me more than just one bad side of beards?
pianoplayingsteve · 31-35, M
@Alex1610: Beards provide the warm, moist conditions needed for bacteria to thrive. The hair follicles can become infected. It is a sign of laziness. It is associated with alcoholism, islam. There is a reason why there are way, way more clean shaving surgeons, medics, nursesthan those with beards. I wonder why in a profession that demands cleanliness, beards are not encouraged. Hmmm

@pianoplayingsteve: So far, the only sensible reason you've got is the bacteria thing. You're saying people who have beards are lazy. That's just ridiculous. Beard is associated with alcoholism, Islam??? Sounds like you care too much about what people think and say. If beard truly is associated with alcoholism then most men in this world must be alcoholics! Simply ridiculous! And what does it have to do with Islam? You think only Islamic men have beards?? And why is it a bad thing that beard is associated with Islam???
HoraceGreenley · 56-60, M
Great question! I have no idea. I find a beard interferes with my social agenda. 😉
pianoplayingsteve · 31-35, M
How??
@pianoplayingsteve: TESTOSTERONE
pianoplayingsteve · 31-35, M
@Queen-of-Phi: Testosterone has many more effects than facial pubic hair.
