What's the most amount of money you wasted on something you thought you'd use?

Before I had kids and bills I spent $900 on a surfboard because my husband surfs and I wanted to be able to enjoy it with him. We weren't married back then.

I'm afraid of the ocean so that was an idiotic move. Ended up selling it after a few months.
