I am still confused about how some people just stop logging in oneday. Thoughts?

Most do it without a goodbye.

Do they have to say goodbye?

@Primnproper: That's just my personal reason why I don't say goodbye, thank you for caring by the way:) Let's go back to the topic, it is unnecessary to tell everyone you're logging out. Do you usually say goodbye? There are many ways to say goodbye like "Goodnight", "Gotta take a shower", "Gotta go to the bathroom", etc You do see people do that on Facebook, don't you? Because I think telling everyone you're about to log out is kinda like telling everyone what you're doing. Therefore, if by goodbye you mean "goodbye" then it's not helping anything, now you know that someone's going to log out but you'll never know what's happening to them

@Alex1610: we don't mean just logging off for the day Alex...we are talking more permanent departures..long-term ones..

@Primnproper: Long break from logging in sometimes can't be predicted, even by the users. They can't always tell you how it's going

They move on to somewhere else or focus their energy somewhere else. I do wish they would at least say good bye though.

They were kind of regular and boom one day they dissappear.
SW-User
Ya that sucks

I feel the same way. I'm not sure how some people can just go cold turkey like that. For me, it took several months to completely stop logging, so I'm not sure how some people manage it in one day. Even now, I still long for the feel of a sturdy crosscut saw in my grip, the sound of a once-mighty tree toppling to the ground, felled by my hand. There's no feeling quite like it, and it's a difficult addiction to kick.

I find it sad...I'd always drop my friends a note letting them know..
Ballora · 26-30, F
Maybe thet dont feel special
Aperson · M
Not about speciality. .

I'm surprised I still check this site daily,I tend to get bored of sites quickly and will delete my account if I can, I did that 3 or 4 times with EP

Flenflyys · 31-35, F

Don't forget some have real problems, not always easy to judge them.
Aperson · M
Like?
SW-User
@Riemann: well, I know some who have relation problems, problems in the family and not to mention the mental problems some have, that all can lead to a goodbye ore an time out.
Aperson · M
@kingkyrie: then one day they decide to not login anymore? Ridiculous.
Maybe they have a life or forgot how to long in or they got a new profile 🙄
Aperson · M
Come on. I have a life too. Most of us do. You just don't get a life one morning and vanish.
Idk shrugs ..

I always give those that do delete the benefit of the doubt. Without getting into another's mind we would never know the answer.
Oldsong2 · 26-30, F
Getting busy , life does not give them chance to say goodbye
Aperson · M
Does it make sense? Just suddenly going off for good?
Oldsong2 · 26-30, F
It might not a goodbye , they will back some day , who knows what makes them leave like that !
Nicely · 56-60, F
Was it a relationship ?
Aperson · M
Not that. I just wonder.
Cinderella · 46-50, F
Might be easy
Aperson · M
It's like they teleport to another world. Get the sarcasm
Cinderella · 46-50, F
I wish some would disappear lol
Unlearn · 41-45, M
Cold turkey...
They might go to other sites, have more work, school or family obligations. Or they might pass away, but not necessarily.
Aperson · M
You just don't suddenly get so busy one day that you don't login anymore. This is seriously suspicious.
@Riemann: Perhaps you wouldn't. But some people do. On EP there were people gone for years that just reappeared, (here and on other sites) and that was all that had happened.
