Chinese do not use the letter "R" as the English language does? You try any sentence with "R" and hear what you sound like!

And Japanese doesn't have Ls. The Innuit language only has 18 phonetics, completely lacking a fair number of sounds common to us English speakers. Language is an interesting thing.

I know it's true in Japanese, I didn't realize it was so for Chinese languages, too.

Actually Japanese does have the letter "R". Their number 6 is "Roku".
@iSensual: Right, I realized it's the opposite, and the "L" sound that is often replaced with "R".
