Regarding yesterday's post about Michelle Obama....

I am getting PM's re my post.

I just want to say, that regardless of my political leanings, I think Mrs. Obama has been incredibly gracious, conducting herself with humour and dignity, and has represented America well at home and internationally.

I hope when Trumps term ends, I can say the very same about Melania Trump too. I think she is a lovely woman.

I still say much the same about Laura Bush too. Grace, charm, dignity, humour, and incredible calm in the face of all her husband faced.

My post wasn't Dem vs, GOP.

There are great spouses on each side, and the USA has been extraordinarily well served by spouses on both sides of the aisle.

I wish Melania Trump, only, and all good things in her time as First Lady.

We all should.

What can anyone object to regarding that post ? You were very even-handed, giving the previous First Ladies credit and speaking kindly of Melania. It's just another example of the hatefulness towards the Obamas, and apparently they were too sniveling and cowardly to say it in open forum, because they know they're [b]wrong[/b].

Sorry, in this regard I [b]am[/b] partisan.😒

I accept people where they are. I know, in accepting that, that these days many people are swayed by their allegiance to reading or watching only one side - of one sided news.

Lol, if you can untangle that.

Therefore, I can discuss, or debate, with the knowledge that the other person isn't as broadly informed ( or maybe they are, and moreso) as I think I am.

Politics is funny. People cling to their party platform and policy, even when their party is accusing the other of exactly what they themselves were up to the day before.

I also know these will be read by 12 people maybe? Perhaps only 3.

So at the end of the day, I'm happy, and did this reeeeeeeally matter? Probably not, but in putting it to post, I am actually benefitting. I'm honing my opinions and becoming (perhaps) better at expressing them.

I don't know the dissenters. They don't know me. But I do respect what they bring, giving me the opportunity to again refine and construct my own platform from which to post.

This is entirely a selfish exercise.

One day I will be the President of the Moon!
