Is it bad that I feel like I'm with a bunch of strangers when I'm surrounded by family?

Possibly. I feel that way too, especially cause i haven't seen my aunt and 3 cousins in forever. For me, it helped to not focus on that. To just focus on communicating with them. Focus on having a good time. Then you won't be as estranged. :)
