Did the 60s end in 2016?

Poll - Total Votes: 5
No because I take everything too damn literally and insist on Dec 1969
No, the 60s were over a long time ago, even symbolically.
Yes, it does seem like a set of strange coincidences. The vibe has changes.
The 60s were not that great anyway.
Burnley, you weren't even born in the 60s so kindly shut up. ;-)
Whatever man. I'm still stoned so peace out.

You can only vote on one answer.
The passing of Cohen, Bowie and Fidel Castro. Orange Mussolini is President of America.

Everyone said I should do a poll and I do one and nobody freakin uses it. Grrr Its an awesome poll too, even if I do say so myself. If you read this you'd better do that damn poll. 😜

@Burnley123: Hey, you did great.....Try polling the 70s next. More people will remember.

@Morganmoon: I could do the 90s but nobody will care. ;-)

@Burnley123:That's because the 90's was all about the "pretty Vacant". Yes, Punk had Finally reached the USA. (tongue in cheek; I was in a punk band in the 80s, and had been listening to it for yrs b4)

I was alive at the first break in diplomatic ties with Cuba. While Castro was playing mutineer with American investments and demanding the US cut it's diplomatic staff and accused us of using Cuba as a "platform" to spy on the Soviets. Us? Why the fk would we need to stage a spy mission in Cuba when we had a million personnel in the Nato region?

The guy confiscated American citizens lawful property under a scheme he said was "nationalizing" Cuba, in effect stealing hundreds of millions of American's money. Then he invited the Soviet Union to install nuclear missles.
Pardon me for not thinking the guy was asking for it and almost started world war 3 with his shenanigans.

Cohen was already way past his time by the 70s. Bowies music genius star was long passed by the 80s and even his film credits were already in the past before 2000.

As for comparing any american citizen to the murderous criminal, Hitler's good friend Mussolini, and who hasn't even taken office yet is a truely spectacular display of Clintonian brain washed ignorance.

Are you still not aware that the Clintonites and Obama are pure Socialist and we are very lucky that she is not going to be able to hand this entire country over to the Russians?

Wake up will ya?

Yes. It looks more that the 70s now. Crisis, uncertainty and fear. And not even good movies like then.

@Morganmoon: Its not just an American problem though.

Britain voted for Brexit and France may elect Marine Le Pen as French President next year. I have posted a LOT about this on here but in my view a crisis of neo-liberal capitalism brought about by the 2007/08 financial crash has been seized on my the nationalist right to blame the wrong people for the problems.

I do not like the political establishment but logic SHOULD dictate that there is a more left wing reaction to income inequality problems caused by de-regulation of trade and banking. The left is stronger than it was and Bernie Sanders has European equivalents but at the moment the nationalist right is stronger. Unfortunately. .

@Burnley123: No, I actually live with an expat from London.

@Burnley123: I feel your pain. I'm politically active on other*ahem* pages; been harassed, blocked...We now face our next big depression, I'm afraid.
