I was alive at the first break in diplomatic ties with Cuba. While Castro was playing mutineer with American investments and demanding the US cut it's diplomatic staff and accused us of using Cuba as a "platform" to spy on the Soviets. Us? Why the fk would we need to stage a spy mission in Cuba when we had a million personnel in the Nato region?
The guy confiscated American citizens lawful property under a scheme he said was "nationalizing" Cuba, in effect stealing hundreds of millions of American's money. Then he invited the Soviet Union to install nuclear missles.
