How old is too old to go trick or treating?

Is there an age range that you stop giving candy? 🎃👻

I think I stopped when I was around 12, but I get Latinas who show up every year who look to be in their early 20's. Gonna give out condoms this year.

Trick or treat..(holds out bag)
12 is a good age. Do you still give them candy? 😬 I would be too embarrassed to be that old and trick or treat.

Lol. Aw how cute. I imagine a little grumpy kid going trick or treating.

I never thought about that. I love that perspective. Yeah, I don't turn down anyone either. I don't really care to be honest it's just candy. 😊

I would say on average around 12 but if someone feels comfortable going trick-or-treating past that age they should, and enjoy, it is something that is usually outgrown at a certain point, and the person will know when he or she is too old.
Great response.

Adults carol during Christmas, so what's stopping you from trick-or-treating this Halloween?
That's a good thing to relate it too. Never thought about that. 🤔
Did children ever go caroling alone ? I know I never did.
@bijouxbroussard: LOL. Ive never been caroling. I've only seen it in movies to be honest. And that's would make sense.. for them not to go alone.

Nope, it's less an age thing and more a vibe thing with me.
"A vibe thing"?🤔

Sure. If older people show up but they are cool and in good spirits with no creepiness then I'm not going to give them a hard time. I'm not into restricting people's good natured fun 🙂
@Auberon89: ah. I agree with that. Great response. ☺

You are never too old to go trick or treating and you are never to young to hand out candy!
People started telling me I was too old when I was in like 9th grade so I stopped. Haha, but 9th grade is kind of old to being going trick or treating. 😂

I'm 12 and do trick or treat >~< and I think I will still do it at the age of 13 and 14 there is no age for candy and being happy but I think at ur age people will think it's weird but don't really care about people just be who you are and if you really wanna do it then try just do it
Haha. I wasn't asking for me. 😖😳 I was just asking in general. Enjoy trick or treating. 😊

@Poptartinvasion: oh haha

I don't think it really matters. I've seen forty year olds trick or treating (they didn't have kids btw.) To be fair, they were walking to a party in the neighborhood, and decided to get some free candy.
LOL. That's amusing, I wonder if they got a lot of candy or if they were just shunned.
3venus · F
@Poptartinvasion: By the time they arrived at my house they had half full bags. I guess people really don't care. 😂
@3venus: that's funny. I honestly don't care either. It's just candy. 😛
After puberty, it's "begging"---trick or treating is for children. As far as giving out candy, my parents are in their 80s and still give out treats, because trick or treaters still come.
Haha, I changed the bottom part because It didn't make sense. I do agree it is kind of weird once you get to a certain age...you can just go buy your own candy.

If the older kids are trick or treating then they are not getting in trouble nor ruining other people's Halloween winning situation.
@bijouxbroussard: 😵 wow. That's terrible.... I'm usually not home for halloween, but last year I was and we had all little kids. 😊 it was nice.
JaggedLittlePill · 46-50, F
@bijouxbroussard: Right. So ...SOME teens acted like jerks, so that means ALL teens will and do? . Those kids should have had the police called on them as 10 pm is surely past trick or treating hours in my neck of the woods. The door would have never even been opened for them at that time.

I am not sure why my comment was singled out and needed commentary. This is not a debate. I do what I do at my home ..what others do is their deal...but I do think it is silly to get bent out of shape over giving candy to teens.
@JaggedLittlePill: i wouldn't worry too much over it. A lot of people on here had the same mindset as you did. I'm not certain why your comment was singled out either, but that happens a lot on public forms. try not to take it to heart. I agree with your mindset but it is always nice to see from another's perspective.
