Should Milo be allowed to speak?

I think he should. Criticise the troll and take it apart with your arguments. Getting angry or no platforming gives him exactly what he wants.

Burnley, guess what ? Now Jesse Arreguin, Mayor of Berkeley, has been receiving death threats by conservatives upset that he tweeted ""Unfortunately, last night, a small minority of the protesters who had assembled in opposition to a speaking engagement featuring a prominent white nationalist engaged in violence and property damage". He later changed "white nationalist" to "alt-rightist" and apologized, but that wasn't enough, Breitbart.com went on the warpath and threatened to sue him for "inciting a riot".

Priceless !! They don't think Milo's presence was incitement enough ? So much for conservatives and "free speech". So much for conservatives and "non-violence".

i find it highly amusing that the so called anti-fascists are using fascism to fight fascism.. you cant make this shit up ;D

I believe in free speech. If you don't like what someone says, leave.

He is allowed to say whatever his little fascist heart desires. People forget that freedom of speech simply means that the government won't stop you. He has plenty of outlets for his hate speech. Breitbart?? But actions have consequences. Why should universities have to allow him to speak when there is such an issue? It isn't a balanced and fair debate with opposing viewpoints. It is him inciting all the racists and other scum.

@Masarch96: Limited public forums are those places held out by the government for civic discussion. Capitol grounds, courthouses, state fairs, and public universities have all qualified as limited public forums for First Amendment purposes. Although the government may designate such places as sites for public speech under certain circumstances, the Supreme Court has recognized that individual expression is not the sole objective served by limited public forums. For example, courthouses are primarily designed to administer justice, though important social discourse often takes place on the courthouse steps. Consequently, the First Amendment gives the government greater latitude in regulating limited public forums than traditional public forums.

So in other words, you don't think he should be able to speak at colleges because you don't want someone with an opinion differing from yours reaching out to and swaying young people.

@Masarch96: I simply posted what the Supreme Court has to say about free speech at public universities.

I think he should be allowed to speak. He, and the Trump'sters, are lying about UC Berkeley denying him his freedom of speech. UC asked him to cover the extra security costs (about $60K), and he demanded that they cover it, otherwise, they're suppressing his rights to free speech. He said that himself.

It's one thing to tolerate hate speech, and another to take $60K, the cost to educate an engineer, for 12 months (room and board included), out of the school's budget, to enable this guy's right to hate speech.

Not something I want my school to do!
The fact that 60k was needed to keep him and other students and buildings safe to speak 'words' AND..only speaking to those who bought tickets and wanted to hear him speak, don't strike you as ridicules. You sir are a fascist and the exact thing you all spend your days accusing trump and trump voters of...

@theoneyouwerewarnedabout:

Unfortunately, we don't live in a safe world. Haven't you heard the President?

And you concluded that, from me saying that I support his right to free speech?

#AlternativeFacts
Absolutely, freedom of speech is a basic human right. Lose that and we become another N. Korea
SW-User
Absolutely. The only reason people don't want him to speak is because they can't handle a differing opinion.
SW-User
Yeah let them all speak or else how is everyone going to hear their stupid ideas?

It's hate speech and he's loathsome. But we've allowed Neo-Nazis and Klansmen to march, and as much as I would personally love to see Milo get stomped into the ground...he's entitled to have his say. 😇

Milo is also a charlatan.

He used to have a weird friendship with a left wing British journalist called Laurie Penny. Her account is really interesting.
