What type of music Do you listen to?

I see a lot of electronica, death metal and pop posted here, also Reggae and contemporary folk.

Some of these Posts from @MourningDove, @BelaTatto and @BeMyValentine have thousands of songs posted.

Anyone listen to Jazz or Blues?

Listened to Bowie, Eno, Roxy Music, Kraftwerk primarily but always interested in learning about new music.

It is so curious how a nation remembers performers in a major concert.
Concert for Bangladesh promoted by
George Harrison and supported by Eric Clapton, Leon Russel, Bob Dylan and others in 1970.
This is "Jumping Jack Flash"

@sweetpea: I think being a Beatle would have many women fawning over him all by itself.
Peaches · F
@Pfuzylogic: Oh yeah!
Yeah i listen to Jazz, Blues and have posted many on my thread as well. I do enjoy posting a variety. I am venturing some classical as well!
Pfuzylogic · M
@BemyValentine: Just one more then, this is my favorite but I had posted it on Experience Project so I was waiting but not now! 😇🍷🌹

@Pfuzylogic: Nice! Oh BTW...You should watch this movie: Leave her to Heaven
which shows bits of the movie shown...it's GOOD! haha...I'm a movie buff too.
Pfuzylogic · M
@BemyValentine: Nice! I love picking up bits of knowledge like that. I am certain we can complement each other with music that goes a bit back in time!
you cant be all bad if you listen to jazz, blues , bowie ,eno and kraftwerk

@DuchessOfMapleSyrup: is it wrong to think of the "New York Dolls" at first. This is "dirty" Rock and Roll at its finest! Thanks.
@Pfuzylogic: i think they only had 2 albums ,but the singer was in detective and power station after robert palmer left
Pfuzylogic · M
@DuchessOfMapleSyrup: Robert Palmer, a true legend of the 70s and 80s

When I attended University of Cincinnati in 1977 I joined the PI Kappa Alpha Fraternity. Most of the members came from a very large Parochial Catholic High School called Xavier. Most were state champion wrestlers and they loved their jazz. I can't count the number of times I got trashed by alcohol accompanied by this song by
Lionel Hampton!

I love jazz and blues. I've always enjoyed Sinatra as my uncle played records over and over again. So I grew up listening to music other than just rock or country, etc. I like Ella Fitzgerald, Nat King Cole and many others from back then. I also like current singers such as Michael Buble', Polly Gibbons, Gregory Porter and several others.
Pfuzylogic · M
@Wingz1969:
The video is a pure delight. 😍
JerseyGal · 51-55, F
@Pfuzylogic: so glad you thought so! 😊
Pfuzylogic · M
@Wingz1969: Please feel free to add anything at anytime. That includes Sinatra! 😍
Peaches · F
I like jazz and blues, but I was brought up country, I've posted some old country music here. ✌🏼 I was country when country wasn't cool❣🎼🎤
Pfuzylogic · M
@sweetpea: That would be very enchanting in the evening 🐾🌳🌿
Peaches · F
@Pfuzylogic: Oh it was! My brother and I use to play hide and seek in the scented pines back there. He'd put them in a jar and shake them, knowing I'd stick my head out to see and he'd find me, haha❣ My brother died, I wrote a story about him here, it's called "The Fireflies." 💔
Pfuzylogic · M
@sweetpea: The play provided for pleasurable times as a child. I have not experienced the missing of a sibling. I will check your post on him!

I listen to all kinds of music with the exception of opera and rap.Through the years my tastes in music have run the gamut from heavy metal to Celtic, bluegrass and world beat.My current love is jazz, but to keep in touch with the present day I listen to a local college station that features new and emerging artists,Indie music along with a sprinkle of folk and classic rock.I'm also in love with female vocalists, especially Melissa Manchester and Carly Simon.
In short, I love it from Abba to Zeppelin!
gurlwatcher22 · 61-69, M
There are a bazillion and I don't even know the names of half the stuff I listen to.Just for shits and giggles, dial up Cherish The Ladies,The Chieftians,Bruce Cockburn (that's his real name, pronounced Co-burn)Acoustic Alchemy,Wolfstone,Circe Link, and The Bird and the Bee.For a new group that has a very older sounding (almost gospelike) vibe, listen to The War and Treaty. That should keep you busy for a while.Enjoy!
Pfuzylogic · M
@gurlwatcher22: I do appreciate your list. I taught High School in the 90s and so I had easy exposure to the music that was popular i.e. The Red Hot Chile Peppers in 1989.
gurlwatcher22 · 61-69, M
Nirvana, Pearl Jam......excellent!

I like a variety but have a fondness for Gothic and Symphonic metal. I can't do jazz or most blues...Yikes.
Pfuzylogic · M
Honestly it is why I posted.
I wanted to put my explorer's cap on and find something fun and new.

I received exactly that. I need that electricity!
Magenta · F
Love it! Stagnant creates apathy. We need a spark, or sparks. ⚡
Pfuzylogic · M

Yes the spark is the source!
The current is the flow.
It is why I taught.

Sir, I would like to add a little touch of Elvis Presley to your Saturday Night with "Let It Be Me". Hope you have a good time.

I am sure that is one of the big songs that Elvis played at Las Vegas.
It has an Orchestra in the background!
Prisca · 31-35, F

Great ☺

My very first exposure to Queen was on WNAP an Indianapolis FM station. FM was the "underbelly" of music and they played the Black side of Queen 2. It was intense and orchestral and even though I listened to Bowie; it showed me a side of Rock that shocked me at 14.

Pfuzylogic · M
This came out in 78 when I was a freshman at UC. This left no doubt who Queen was.

The inside cover of the album had hundreds of girls showing their big bottom assets in a competitive bike race!
Peaches · F
@Pfuzylogic: LMAO! I posted my bicycle on line and my friend posted this song for me.😊🚴🏼
Pfuzylogic · M
@sweetpea: It is a bit naughty!
I was surprised that YouTube allowed the nudity but it isn't that bad. 😜

The New Wave started around 1980. This is Spandau Ballet's first release in 1981. It was before "True" and IMO their best.

I love soul. Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye and Al Green. Classic rock, Motown. 60's and 70's. I like some dark wave music too.
Pfuzylogic · M
@sweetpea: I didn't know that. I just knew we lost Marvin.
Peaches · F
@Pfuzylogic: They got into a drunken fight and his dad shot him. 😭

Melodic Death Metal, rock, rap. Those are my usual genres, but i can listen to a wide genre pool. I have been surprised at the amount of metalheads on here. I don't really listen to Jazz or blues, though.
Pfuzylogic · M
@ColdPenguin: Thank you. I listened to all of it and liked the energy and composition of the work!
Tatsumi · 31-35, M
@Pfuzylogic: I love them. They're amazing lyrically, too. They also sometimes sing in the basically extinct language of ancient Gaulish.
Pfuzylogic · M
@ColdPenguin: That would be highly unique.
It is fascinating that they would visit a language like that.
Hey I just thought about another very long thread of music that dates back much farther than mine and has many more replies, I was curious as to why it isn't mentioned here as we were both there recently... legit question, this person has serious skills too.
@Pfuzylogic: Why yes, she a pro
Pfuzylogic · M
@MourningDove:
I just edited my post to include her.
Invite her here if you like!

When I list my very favorite songs; this is on the top. Avalon was a release without Eno in 1982 but still incredible. The orchestration is deep and out of this world. "Take a chance with me" hasn't aged a minute.

Blues, most definitely. Jazz, not a big fan. Excepting Billie Holliday, maybe the greatest singer ever. She transcends genre.
Classic rock, Dylan, other singer-songwriters, Celtic, Renaissance, Bach-Vivaldi-Handel, Lucinda Williams, too many to mention.
Pfuzylogic · M
Please always feel free to share your favorite especially the incredibly gifted, Billie Holliday!
Pfuzylogic · M
Rickie Lee Jones sang "Chucky's in Love" in the 70s but she had a release in 1981 called "Pirates" that was an incredibly romantic urban sound.

Eno & Byrne "My Life in the Bush of Ghosts" with "Mea Culpa" 1981

"Astronomy" A twisted love song that is very much a ballad. Buck Dharma on lead guitar and Eric Bloom singing.
Prisca · 31-35, F
@Pfuzylogic: Sensational Sir. 💖
Pfuzylogic · M
@Prisca: BOC played very intense Hard Rock for the 70s. Listen to "Don't fear the Reaper" (Cowbell wasn't that up front back then) and also "Burning for you". "Astronomy" was covered by Metallica later and they had a decent version. It was more of a Love Ballad.

It got a little bluesy
