What type of music Do you listen to?

I see a lot of electronica, death metal and pop posted here, also Reggae and contemporary folk.

Some of these Posts from @MourningDove, @BelaTatto and @BeMyValentine have thousands of songs posted.

Anyone listen to Jazz or Blues?

Listened to Bowie, Eno, Roxy Music, Kraftwerk primarily but always interested in learning about new music.

I like a variety but have a fondness for Gothic and Symphonic metal. I can't do jazz or most blues...Yikes.

I have never heard of Goth or Symphonic metal? I would love to learn more about that type of music. 😊
Magenta · F
Sweet. :-)
I like the depth, diversity and passion of this genre. Try... Epica, Within Temptation, Nightwish, Leave's Eyes, Sirenia, Tarja Turunen, Tristania, for female fronted bands.

@Mirage: 🌹 Thank you for the list. That was very much what I was looking for. I have been posting some music but tastes can become so easily eclectic.
Magenta · F
My pleasure.
Here's one for you. Opera meets metal!
'Phantom Of the Opera' by Nightwish.
A little hair flipping and only a little screaming. 😘

@Mirage: I did listen to all of your selection. It was so fun watching the audience get so emotionally involved with the song. You could see they were very familiar with the song. What an operatic voice from the Lady!
Magenta · F
Excellente! Kind of neat from a Symphonic Metal band. :-)

@Mirage: That could easily get the adrenaline going. Can I ask for an example of a Goth Symphonic group?
Magenta · F
Indeed, great vibe.
Yes you may. A tad hard to choose, but I selected..
"Tender Trip On Earth" by Tristania.

@Mirage: Thank you for the selection again. I have yet to embrace the gruff intense male voice. My first introduction to this new form of male singing came with "The decline of Western Civilization" tour in 1980.

The strong voice of the woman was incredible side by side and I love this new experience.
I always thought of Iggy Pop to encapsulate this intensity but this does take the voice to a whole new level! 😎
Magenta · F
Most welcome. I'm impressed you're listening to these, entire.
Actually the one thing I highly dislike about some metal is the growling versus singing. In this it isn't too pervasive though.
Intensity is great! 🙃

@Mirage: One of my favorite studies is to learn new music and the evolving of contemporary society as well as enjoy music.

The operatic quality of the music underlines the composition without the growls. I suspect these are all essential elements to most of the audience.

I view it similar to my first sampled shots of Chevis. Most learned tastes reprogram enjoyment. It has been since 97 since I enjoyed that though.
Magenta · F
Oh, Nice. There's such joy in discovery.

Yes the operatic quality is key, plus the diversity. It stirs me, something typical mainstream music rarely does. Much of the genre(s) I enjoy has a lot of emotive depth. It speaks to moods.

Mmm indeed. It's like a seduction. ;-)

Honestly it is why I posted.
I wanted to put my explorer's cap on and find something fun and new.

I received exactly that. I need that electricity!
Magenta · F
Love it! Stagnant creates apathy. We need a spark, or sparks. ⚡

@Mirage:
Yes the spark is the source!
The current is the flow.
It is why I taught.
I love circuits in students minds.
