@beermeplease LOL Pretty much.
@Burnley123 on another note...i quite like the rugby 7s circuit when they come to my city (vancouver). been a few times...always fun

@beermeplease It is very entertaining. The fifteen-man game is obviously a different beast.

Canada used to qualify for rugby world cups but has struggled due to the vast difference that its (semi-pro) teams need to travel and because of the improvement in other second-tier nations. Conversely, your soccer team has got a lot better because of the three MLS sides.
@Burnley123 yes! i'm a whitecaps season ticket holder. our league doesn't compare to epl or bundesleague but it's getting better. losing alphonso davies to bayern hurt but we knew it was coming. i will always cherish the memories of watching davies play professional football live as a 15 y/o among grown men

@beermeplease I'm a Burnley fan (hence the username) and - given our history - I've seen football in all of our top four leagues. I've also seen MLS games on TV and it's definitely Championship standard. Though there is a big gap between the Championship and the Premier League, as my team is finding out!

The game in North America has a young fanbase and will continue to grow. Davies is one hell of a talent, much like Bale was for Wales. If you cloned him five times, all six would be starters for your national team.
@Burnley123 i just hope we do continue to grow and attract more younger "good" european players to our league..or other international players such as messi. but...... if some players across the pond thinking the mls is a cakewalk and think they'll light up the league then they are in for a rude awakening. lampard was a bust and beckham wasn't all that great either. rooney did pretty good in the beginning. i get that they were towards the end of their careers. ...soccer/football...the beautiful game no matter where you watch from...i hope my team beats seattle tonight...our second to last game before the playoffs start 😜

@beermeplease Beckham was always overrated. He was excellent and crosses and free-kicks but average at everything else. His fame came from being good-looking and being married to a pop star. Messi's fame comes from his talent. He is past his best now but only in the sense that he was (IMO) the greatest player of all time and is now merely world-class. Lampard was an athletic player who lost his athleticism and Rooney peaked early so I'm not surprised they didn't pull up trees in a competitive league.

The MLS could become a top-tier league in the future. A problem with it is that more of your soccer fans watch Premiership and Liga MX games than the domestic league. That potentially puts the league in a 'second-world trap'. The way to escape that would be to keep improving the academies so that the domestic player base raises the standard of the competition. America has a youth player base as big as England or France and Canada has one at least as big as Denmark so that potential exists.. These things take time. Good luck in your local derby against the Sounders.
@Burnley123 you sir are absolutely correct! cheers mate! and happy football watching! ohhh i see ireland plays scotland in rugby tomorrow...9am my time and on the tele....gonna tune in.

@beermeplease Ireland are genuine WC contenders and Stcoland is decent. It should be a good game but I think Ireland will win.
AdaXI · 41-45, T
@beermeplease Ireland vs Scotland has already been played in fact it's just ended, but I won't spoil it by telling you the result if you planning on watching it tomorrow morning.

@Burnley123 @beermeplease Ireland won 36-14. They totally dominated the game and had pretty much won it by half time but Scotland got two tries very late on.

@Burnley123 During the woman's world cup I recorded couple of games thinking yeah I'll just get up and watch them before anyone tells me the results . Gets up switches the telly on and first thing that would hit the TV screen is either the news telling me all the f%king results or someone on a good morning programme talking about the teams performance....
[big]'NNNOOOOOO!!!!!'[/big]
LMAO!😅

@beermeplease @Burnley123 When it comes to who will win the rugby world cup though.

Ireland are the best team in the world full stop ATM, but they've ever won it or even been close. France are the second best team in the world and they are also the host nation so have home advantage, but they've also never won it.

Flip side the Southern hemisphere teams like New Zealand and South Africa have won it countless times before and other than England winning it on one single occasion I don't think any other Northern hemisphere team has ever even won the world cup. Both France and England have been in countless finals and lost but like I say the Southern Hemisphere teams have always totally dominated this competition.

So yeah there is definitely 4 teams in it (and even Wales and England to a bit lesser extent) that could win but Ireland really are the team to beat and like I say France has home advantage so on paper it should be one of them two teams... Provided they don't crumble to the pressure of Northern hemisphere teams almost like a voodoo curse rarely ever winning it.
