There is a reason that France did not mock Islam.

They know that if they had, there would have been no way to stop the chaos that would have ensued. Muslims would have burnt the country to the ground.

The opening ceremonies mocked Christianity
nedkelly · 61-69, M
@MrBrownstone Double standards as usual
Illyria · M
The other reason is that only a minority of French citizens would stoop so low as to mock another religion. As the recent elections there showed, the majority of the country would be disgusted by such behaviour.
Aami1 · 26-30, F
Islam is being used to destroy Edom/Esau
SinlessOnslaught · 26-30, M
@Aami1 The man from the bible?
Nimbus · M
Nothing to do with the French being preoccupied with 3 hour dinner break then! 😆
Maybe they were mocking Jews.

Organizers were accused of ridiculing Christianity by featuring more than a dozen drag entertainers posing for a scene reminiscent of the Leonardo da Vinci masterpiece showing Jesus and his disciples sharing their last Passover meal before his betrayal, trial and crucifixion on the cross.

A controversial tableau in the Olympics opening ceremony denounced by Christian and conservative critics as an offensive parody of The Last Supper was in fact inspired by a 17th-century Dutch painting of the Greek Olympian gods, art historians have said.

@Illyria I applaud your effort to bring sanity to the discussion. But I fear they’re not here to listen, only to shout.
Do people usually mock religion at the Olympics?
whosemistakeamj · 26-30, F
@BohemianBabe you of all people would know all about victim complex
@whosemistakeamj When have I gotten offended over something as innocent as people recreating the Last Supper?

France is a Christian country. On an individual level, mocking yourself is acceptable. Mocking someone else is not acceptable.

Wasn't France's last war against Algiers? And didn't Algiers win that one?
msros · F
Exactly.
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
Well it's good they didn't mock Christianity either.

I love how you Alt-Right gobshites claim to be the defenders of Western Civilization, but can't even spot Greek/Roman mythology.

Google Dionysus/Bacchus, bright spark.
Aami1 · 26-30, F
@basilfawlty89 Show me where I said I was defending the West.
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
@Aami1 You regularly post whining about Muslims supposedly destroying Europe.

The funny thing is Spain and Portugal literally got most of their culture thanks to thee Moors.
Aami1 · 26-30, F
@basilfawlty89 Show me some of these "whining" posts.

I don't see what is funny about that.

@Moon3624 It’s not an obsession. It’s an observation. The last time I remember Islam being mocked was by Charlie Hebdo and we know how that ended.
Moon3624 · 18-21, F
@Askeladd it’s not just an observation you guys are truly too desperate and must drag Islam into everything
This is why you copy paste the same statement started by islamphobes and keep circulating it on social media instead of directing the attention on the issue itself

Maybe the Question should be France has mocked Jesus and Mohammed but not Moses why?

Why don’t we ask those questions
If we wanna go all conspiracy and observation
