World Series

The Texas Rangers ( 90 - 72 ) are playing the Arizona Diamondbacks( 84- 78 ) tonight @ the home of the Texas Rangers; Globe Field in Arlington, Texas.

The first two games are in Arlington, the next three are in Phoenix, and the last two games will be in Arlington again.

But it won't be necessary, because the Rangers will win the first four games and shut out Arizona.
Bruce Bochy is probably the best manager in the game, and I am pulling for the Rangers. BTW, Bochy managed the Giants during the 2010 WS against the Rangers. Ironic, ain't it.

@BizSuitStacy I'm underwhelmed with Melvin, nothing against him, but not too exciting.
@HannahSky Yeah...the feelings among the fans re: Melvin are mixed. He's an improvement over Kapler, who was a disaster.
Ynotisay · M
Nothing personal but this is, in my opinion, the worst WS pairing in memory. Outside of Seager (who's a star) the Rangers don't have any one in the elite level. And the Diamondbacks, outside of Carroll and maybe Walker, there's no standouts there either. Although Pfaadt is throwing lights out right now and is fun to watch. Two teams that finished second in their divisions, with the Dbacks barely cracking .500, isn't a big draw. The best teams throughout the year, which should matter more, are sitting at home. Not a fan of the new playoff schedule.
That said, I'm SURE the fans in Arlington and Phoenix are stoked so I hope for them/you it's a good series.

@Ynotisay The Rangers don't have any superstars like you mentioned, but they have a lot of above average, good players.

Check out the difference in the payroll for the teams.

@DallasCowboysFan Yeah. There's some truth in follow the money. But that's not everything. In any professional sport. There's intangibles. That graph proved it. Injuries matter. And so does the clubhouse. Baseball is a grind. It's a mojo sport. Up and down. They're both way up now. And they both won a Game 7. It'll be good baseball. But Fox won't be happy with these teams.
JSul3 · 70-79
@Ynotisay They play 162 game schedule.
It is what it is.

Folks in Houston and Philly....and Baltimore, are puking their guts daily.
They had their chance and blew it. Now live with it. Next season will be around soon.
What a fantastic game. Seager's two run blast in the 9th, followed by Garcia's opposite field walk off in the 11th. That's what baseball is all about.

I'm not sure we didn't know this info already, but thanks.
Go rangers and fight like hell dbacks.
DallasCowboysFan · 61-69, M
Hmmmm, So far it is 4-1, Arizona. Top of the 7th inning.

Just curious, do the players get new uniforms for every playoff game?

I was wondering how much they would sell for, on Ebay after the games.
DallasCowboysFan · 61-69, M
Okay, let's try again.

Rangers are playing at the Arizona Diamondbacks home in Phoenix.

77 degrees Fahrenheit, and it's an open stadium.

Go Rangers !
DallasCowboysFan · 61-69, M
@DallasCowboysFan We pulled it off.

Rangers won 3-1.

Now, the score is 2-1, Rangers.

Best of 7 games.
DallasCowboysFan · 61-69, M
Arizona won 9-1......damn.

But the Rangers will rebound in Arizona.
DallasCowboysFan · 61-69, M
Rangers win in Overtime - 6-6 in the 11th inning.

A classic World Series in the making
eli1601 · 70-79, M
Bad loss for the DBacks.
JSul3 · 70-79
@eli1601 First team to 4, wins. It is far from over.
MethDozer · M
I just can't have any respect for a 1990's expansion team
MethDozer · M
@JSul3 why do you old fucks always state the known and obvious?
JSul3 · 70-79
@MethDozer In response to people like you.
eli1601 · 70-79, M
@MethDozer So a 1960's expansion team is okay?
