Why is American Football so much worse than real football?

Big men in plastic tights run into each other in ten second bursts. Mega complex rules and sixty people on the bench. Who would invent a sport like that? ;-)

it's a sport for the coaches, not the players. As a spectator spectacle on TV, it's excellent, as you only need to give it attention in short bursts as well, and there's coffee/toilet breaks built in. As a strategist, there's quite a bit to appreciate in the tactical considerations and modulations.

Going along and watching it live is a real drag in my very limited experience, though.

OTOH, watching endless 0-0 results with penalty shootouts in soccer doesn't really do it for me either. Given my preference, I'd stick to rugby, the Sport of Idiots (and my national religion)

I'm sure you can still watch all-blacks games. Like the Ireland match. 🤔

Seriously though, New Zealand are the best team in the world. England have had an incredible unbeaten year but we are still a step behind the All Blacks in terms of quality.

The Lions tour should be interesting. You guys will be favourites but it will be a lot more competitive than last time.

I expect, on previous form, for the ABs to go there overconfident, and underperform - they did that last time they won the world cup :/

@firefall: I think you are too modest. One thing that gives us a chance is the poor form of Australia and South Africa. They are playing no better than 6 nations teams and in the latter case even worse. The ABs must be strong favourites but we will see. TTYL
